Pico takes on SG50 celebrations in Hong Kong

This year marks 50 years of Singapore’s independence, and the city-state is celebrating the occasion with a slew of events both at home and abroad.

In Hong Kong, Singapore Tourism Board (STB) celebrated with an interactive display and multimedia campaign called Singapore Weekend: a three-day event at Olympian City in Kowloon which aimed to promote Singaporean culture and the city’s tourist attractions.

Event management company Pico supported STB with event design, set-up and media services designed to promote audience engagement with Singapore’s tourism products. Pico developed a video that showcased "50 attractions" around Singapore, and reflected a selection of them at the display. Some of the displays included Singapore’s signature hawker spot Lau Pa Sat, interactive sporting activities that reflect the city’s sporting calendar, food stalls, a stage with daily performances and photo booths.

Area Director for Southern China, Hong Kong and Macau for the Singapore Tourism Board Etienne Ng said, “We received lots of favourable feedback about the event from perfect execution of the launch ceremony to the design of high quality of exhibits (especially the iconic Lau Pa Sat and rainbow Merlion) and well-designed event layout.  The team’s dedication and can-do spirit, and excellent problem-solving skills are integral to the successful organisation of the event.”
