EVENT and HR teams seeking to move corporate gatherings beyond the Hong Kong’s traditional commercial districts are being offered another option thanks to a partnership between heritage waterfront venue The Repulse Bay and Team Building Asia.
The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at growing the market for corporate team-building events, as organisations place greater emphasis on employee engagement, learning and talent development.

The partnership also reflects increasing demand among event planners for venues that offer distinctive settings and experiences away from Central and other core business hubs.
Located on Hong Kong Island’s southern coast, The Repulse Bay combines indoor and outdoor event spaces with sea views and landscaped grounds, providing an alternative to more conventional hotel and office-based meeting venues.
“By joining forces with Team Building Asia [TBA], we are excited to mark an important milestone for The Repulse Bay,” said Celina Ho, Director of Strategic Marketing and Sales at The Repulse Bay.
“We are ready to be the ultimate destination for corporate events,” she said.
For TBA, the partnership expands the range of venues available for its customised programmes, which are designed to support specific organisational objectives and improve workplace performance.
“We are thrilled to announce our partnership with The Repulse Bay,” said Mark Sinclair, TBA’s Director of Business Development.

“At Team Building Asia, we are committed to delivering exceptional experiences, and we seek venues that reflect this commitment to quality for our clients.
“The Repulse Bay is a stunning location that will enhance our clients’ experiences with its breathtaking views, outstanding food and beverage offerings, and impeccable service standards. Finding venues that provide both high-quality indoor and outdoor spaces is quite rare, and we are truly grateful for this collaboration with The Repulse Bay,” Sinclair said.

The partnership comes as employers continue to invest in team cohesion and staff development programmes, creating demand for experiences that go beyond traditional conference rooms.
Conference and incentive organisers are also seeking venues that can accommodate a mix of structured activities, networking and social interaction in more informal environments.
Team-building programmes can make use of outdoor spaces at The Repulse Bay, such as the Seaview Terrace and The Front Lawn, where participants can take part in icebreaker activities overlooking the South China Sea.

Other areas include The Verandah, which is suited to networking events and dining functions, and The Marquee, a garden-surrounded venue designed for larger gatherings.
TBA, which operates across the region and has won multiple industry awards, specialises in developing bespoke programmes for corporate clients, focusing on organisational effectiveness, employee engagement and business performance.
For Hong Kong’s meetings and events sector, the collaboration broadens the range of venue choices available to planners seeking distinctive locations outside the city’s central business district while maintaining easy accessibility for corporate groups.
