Amway China gets first taste of ICC Sydney incentive potential

Some 8,000 incentive qualifiers from China were the first to experience International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney’s capabilities during the venue’s first incentive event since opening in December.

The Darling Harbour precinct, which officially opened on December 20, hosted the Amway China Leadership Seminar 2017 from January 6-18.

The centre’s facilities include five star convention and exhibition centres, 8,000sqm of meeting room space and 35,000sqm of exhibition space.

Highlights
The 13-day event saw delegates arrive in four groups and utilised a range of ICC Sydney’s spaces, including the 2,500 capacity Darling Harbour Theatre and the Convention Centre’s meeting rooms for breakout sessions.

Organisers said the venue’s advanced audio visual equipment was essential to delivering “next-level” presentations.

Delegates were able to explore The Hunger Games: The Exhibition and Brickman Wonders of the World Exhibition – two exhibitions currently being staged at ICC Sydney – as part of the event.

Many of Sydney’s key attractions and hotels were incorporated into the itinerary, including Luna Park, Sydney BridgeClimb, Sheraton on the Park, The Star, Sydney Tower Restaurant, Captain Cook Cruises, and Sydney Opera House.

Upshot
The event helped ICC Sydney “kick off the year with style and substance”, according to CEO Geoff Donaghy (left).

“We have had great feedback from the organisers who were thrilled with our ability to support a range of event types within the overall programme,” he said.

Post-event surveys indicate that delegates were most pleased with a Chinese sharing banquet provided, which was designed in line with the venues Feeding Your Performance philosophy. Guests also noted the courtesy, efficiency and friendly manner of staff.

Associate director of AV and events production for Amway China Bert Li (right) commended the centre’s staff and facilities:

“From developing specific bi-lingual signage and providing exclusive routes through the precinct, to creating dishes that mirrored our guests’ tastes, every detail was anticipated and delivered to a five star standard.

“I’m pleased to say that the Amway China Leadership Seminar 2017 was a triumph thanks to a trifecta of best in class facilities, flexible spaces and most importantly, an expert team that was easy to deal with and quickly addressed our every need.”
