SINGAPORE’s largest purpose-built MICE venue is starting off the year with a series of themed weekend cultural and leisure events.
The events form part of Singapore EXPO’s ongoing effort to diversify its offerings, particularly in the east of the city state.
Venue operator Constellar is positioning the venue to be a vibrant space for entertainment and leisure experiences in addition to its role as a business events venue.
The growing variety of onsite lifestyle events and leisure experiences aligns with Singapore EXPO’s refreshed brand identity – ‘Playground of Possibilities”, Constellar said in a statement, describing it as a “commitment to innovation and creating dynamic experiences that stay ahead of the changing MICE and tourism landscape”.
“While continuing to host world-class MICE events, the venue is also investing in cutting-edge solutions across its facilities and implementing a holistic approach to sustainability by integrating green initiatives throughout its venue-wide operations and offerings.”
The “PLAY @ EXPO” events are scheduled to run each weekend till March, featuring “marquee events” such as Artbox Everyday (January 17-19 and January 24-26) and Culture Cartel (January 17-19).
This weekend sees Mummys Market, billed as the biggest mother and baby fair in Southeast Asia, and Mega Wedding & Lifestyle taking place along with SG Car Choice, which continues the following weekend.
Musical performances have also been lined up with Boney M’s 50th Anniversary Concert on January 15 and Hyukoh & Sunset on March 1.
