VENUE-MANAGEMENT group Legends Global has appointed Paul Doorn as managing director to support the operation of Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Sports Park Limited.
Paul Doorn was CEO of Dunedin Venues Management in New Zealand since late 2024, and had previously served as chief executive of NSW (New South Wales) Rugby and the Waratahs professional club.
Doorn was also CEO of Venues NSW, which managed the Australian state’s stadium network including the Olympic Stadium, and previously led the NSW Department of Sport and Recreation.
Andrew Kam, chief executive of Kai Tak Sports Park Limited, said: “Paul’s vast experience in venue and stadium management will be beneficial as we build on our strong momentum and continue to deliver world‑class events for Hong Kong.”
Kai Tak Sports Park has already one of the top three stadiums in the world after opening just over a year ago. The precinct has sold nearly 2 million tickets and is home to the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens. It has hosted concerts by international stars Coldplay, Seventeen, Twice and Blackpink, and a variety of community and cultural events.
Kai Tak Sports Park was ranked No.3 globally for ticket sales in 2025 (merely nine months after its official commissioning) and was named by TIME Magazine in its most recent World’s Greatest Places list.
