Hanoi mega-facility boosts industry ties

SOUTHEAST ASIA’s largest exhibition complex –  Vietnam Exposition Centre (VEC) – has signed a new round of strategic partnerships with some of the region’s established exhibition and events operators as the new Hanoi venue seeks to strengthen Vietnam’s position in the regional trade show and business events market.

The agreements bring together VEC with South Korea’s COEX, Taiwan’s Chan Chao International, Vietnam-based exhibition organiser Minh Vi (VEAS), and media and technology company VCCorp. The partners will collaborate on exhibitions, conferences, trade promotion activities and business networking programmes.

The move follows a separate set of partnership agreements announced by VEC last month with Informa Markets, Japan’s NC Network, South Korea’s Exporum, Vietnamese organiser Vinexad and Vietnam Exhibition & Convention Association. Together, the deals represent a significant effort by VEC to build relationships with established industry players across Asia.

Under the latest agreements, the organisations will explore ways to jointly organise events and expand international business networks. They will also examine new models for collaboration aimed at making greater use of exhibition infrastructure and improving the competitiveness of Vietnam’s business events sector.

For VEC, the partnerships with COEX, Chan Chao International and Minh Vi are expected to help attract larger national, regional and international events while strengthening the visitor and exhibitor experience.

VEC’s agreement with VCCorp is focused on digital communications, event promotion and building platforms that connect companies in Vietnam with those overseas.

Speaking at the signing ceremony on July 3, in Hanoi, Pham Thi Hien, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Sales and Marketing at VEC, said agreements not only expanded VEC’s partner ecosystem, but also provided a stronger platform to connect Vietnamese and international businesses.

“We believe the combination of world-class infrastructure, event management expertise, and our partners’ extensive networks will deliver exhibitions and events with regional and global impact, helping position Vietnam as a new destination for the international exhibition, events, and trade industry,” she said.

The latest agreements come as Vietnam looks to capture a larger share of Asia’s exhibition and convention market. VEC, which spans more than 90 hectares in Hanoi, is positioning itself as a premier venue for international trade fairs, conferences and exhibitions.

The venue says these partnerships support its longer-term ambition of strengthening Vietnam’s role as a regional centre for trade, investment and international business events.
