THAILAND’S credentials as a host of large-scale international exhibitions have been given a fresh endorsement, after two of Asia’s biggest trade shows were staged within days of each other at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.
The Bangkok venue closed the first half of 2026 as Southeast Asia’s busiest large-scale exhibition destination after hosting THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2026 and ProPak Asia 2026 in rapid succession, say IMPACT executives.
The THAIFEX show was jointly organised by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion, the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Koelnmesse
Together, the events drew more than 175,000 visitors and generated over THB142 billion (about USD4.2bn) in trade value, underscoring both the scale of demand and the capacity of Thailand’s events infrastructure to deliver.
The back-to-back scheduling, in May and June, has been highlighted as a test of operational capability as much as market strength. For Paul Kanjanapas, chief executive of IMPACT Exhibition Management Company, the outcome carries broader implications beyond the venue itself.
“For us, that is the business case. For Thailand, it is something more: confirmation that this country has the world-class infrastructure, the talent, and the ambition to host the world’s most demanding international events – and deliver results that speak for themselves,” Kanjanapas said.
The scale of the first event set the tone. THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2026, held over four days and closing on May 30, was the largest edition in its history. It occupied all 12 exhibition halls at IMPACT, spanning 140,000 square metres of purpose-built space. The show attracted 94,685 trade visitors from 148 countries and generated more than THB136 billion in trade value, reflecting its position as one of the region’s leading food and beverage exhibitions.

Just days later, ProPak Asia 2026 opened at the same venue, running from June 10 to 13. The exhibition, focused on processing and packaging technologies, had moved from its previous Bangkok site as organisers required more space. The 2026 edition drew over 80,000 visitors and generated around THB5.5 billion in trade value across an expanded 60,000 square metres of exhibition space.
The THAIFEX show was jointly organised by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion, the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Koelnmesse. It recorded 3,590 exhibitors from 56 countries across 6,710 booths, with 60 country and provincial group pavilions – up from 50 in 2025.
ProPak Asia 2026, organised by Informa Markets, featured over 2,500 brands across 13 international pavilions. Both events are confirmed to return to IMPACT in 2027.
For organisers, the ability to deliver two large-scale, high-value exhibitions in consecutive weeks is seen as a marker of maturity in both infrastructure and operations. It also reflects sustained investment in facilities and supply chains, alongside the ability to coordinate logistics, exhibitors and international visitors at scale.
Paul Kanjanapas
Hosting THAIFEX – Anuga Asia and ProPak Asia in consecutive weeks is a milestone we are genuinely proud of – not just for IMPACT, but for Thailand. That kind of outcome does not happen by accident. It reflects years of investment in infrastructure, in operational capability, and in the relationships we have built with the world’s leading exhibition organisers.
When two of Asia’s most respected shows choose to grow here, it sends a clear signal to the global business events community about what Bangkok – and Thailand – can offer at the highest level.”
