Teambuilding experts on where to stage your next event

Ryan Ho – Director, The Fun Empire

The Meeting Point @ One-North
It’s a hidden gem situated in the central-west region of Singapore… next to Singapore’s vibrant start-up and incubator ecosystem, Launch Pad. The Meeting Point has a spacious meeting hall for larger events, and also smaller rooms great for teambuilding activities.

The Fun Empire regularly holds teambuilding activities here, as well as our signature group fitness activity, SaberFit. This location is also located next to Singapore’s first container-based and food-truck-themed food centre, Timbre+, with lots of great dining options.

The Cage @ Kallang
Located next to Singapore’s National Stadium and Sports Complex. The Cage @ Kallang offers multiple sheltered futsal (mini-soccer) pitches perfect for sports-based teambuilding activities such as Bubble Soccer, Laser Tag and Combat Archery. The venue has changing rooms and shower facilities for participants, and is a five-minute walk from a train station.

Sentosa Beach
A great island getaway in the southern region of Singapore with multiple beaches available for water sports and outdoor activities, such as our Laser Tag, Ninja Tag, and Poolball. There are also plenty of beach-side cafes and restaurants that complements a teambuilding event.

Singapore Botanic Gardens (above)
A fantastic venue filled with lush greenery that’s great for outdoor teambuilding activities such as Amazing Race and Laser Tag. It is a Unesco World Heritage Site and its green spaces and beautiful landscapes make it a fantastic place for sharing sessions and discussions to enhance teambuilding.”

Adriana Cabral – General manager, SmallWORLD Experience

Nam Van Lakes
A perfect dragon boat lake with smooth waters and the luxurious backdrop of Macau City Centre.

Hac Sa Beach
A green venue; a waterfront without buildings. Isn’t this what Macau is famous for?

Coloane Village (above)
Still preserves its charm. The narrow streets, old houses, shops and almost no cars make Coloane a perfect location for bike experiences and treasure hunts.

Old Taipa Village
Old Taipa Village is the new hub of restaurants, food shops and bars – all walking distance from Cotai. Excellent for our best-seller product Macau Gourmet Discovery.”

David Simpson – Cofounder and director, Team Building Asia

Auberge Discovery Bay, Hong Kong
The hotel has access to the beach to run raft-building activities and our Flat Out Afloat activity.

Sofitel Shanghai Sheshan Oriental
A short trip outside Shanghai with lots of green spaces to run outdoor activities. Being a Sofitel, the rooms and F&B are first class.

The Peninsula Beijing (above)
It’s been recently renovated and now an all-suites hotel. The Pen’s proximity to the key sights of Beijing such as The Forbidden City and Beihai Park, makes this luxury classic the perfect location for a Heritage City Hunt or an Amazing Race-style event such as our Go Team activity.”

David Powell – Managing director, Asia Ability

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (above)
The area has beautiful beach resorts including two Shangri-La resorts – Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa and Rasa Ria Resort & Spa – as well as high quality city (all be it a small city!) hotels including the newly opened Hilton Kota Kinabalu.

The Kiulu Valley
The Kiulu Valley offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy and experience the rural life and jungles of Borneo while undertaking some unique and highly engaging team activities.

The Adventure Centre
A purpose-built riverside venue with a wonderful balance of nature and excellent facilities for a half, full or even an overnight stay for corporate groups.”

Will Gray – Director, Hidden Door

Rapopo Plantation Resort, Papua New Guinea
Breathtaking, but the resort also enables guests to hike an active volcano, game fish and swim with sharks.

Byron Bay (above) and Kingscliff
Allow guests to learn to surf, explore the rainforest or simply use the spectacular surrounds as a backdrop for a film-making or art-based experience without leaving the resort.”
