TOURISM AUSTRALIA has brought its latest campaign to Hong Kong – complete with a life-size kangaroo brand ambassador.
Ruby the 1.8 metre kangaroo is one of the stars of the “Come and Say G’day” brand campaign, along with other CGI-animated characters, including Louie the toy unicorn, in a short film highlighting Australia’s attractions, from stunning scenery and vibrant cities to a diverse food and drink offering.
An “Australia Experience Shop” and two “Australia Photo Spots” have been established at Harbour North in North Point, to encourage Hongkongers to book a holiday Down Under.
Ruby will be hopping around Harbour North Phase 1 in North Point until October 6. An “Australia Experience Shop” has been set up on the first floor along with two photo spots in the mall. An Australian travel specialist will be available on weekends during the promotional period to meet prospective travellers.
From January to June this year, more than 76,000 visitors from Hong Kong visited Australia. Currently, there are more than 50 direct flights between Hong Kong and Australia every week.
