IBTM Asia Pacific makes pledge on 2021 show

Singapore Tourism Board sees inaugural IBTM Asia Pacific as Covid-free event to welcome back business events and travel buyers

IBTM has announced first details of its rescheduled IBTM Asia Pacific, due to take place April 13-14, at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore.

The 2021 event will be themed “inventing the future” and will offer a platform and tools to reshape and rebuild the business events and incentives industry with an  education programme.

“Our industry is renowned for its tenacity and adaptability, especially under pressure and now more than ever ‘inventing the future’ feels a very apt theme as we work together to recover, reimagine and rebuild,” said IBTM Asia Pacific event manager, Michael Jones.

Edward Koh, Executive Director, Conventions, Meetings & Incentive Travel, Singapore Tourism Board, said: “During this period when business events worldwide have gone on pause, STB has been working resolutely with relevant government agencies in Singapore, as well as local and international MICE stakeholders, to come up with a set of robust safe management measures and guidelines to ensure that resumption of business events will be safely and carefully managed.

“One of these stamps of assurance Singapore has is the SG Clean certification. This is a mark of excellence for tourism businesses – including hotels and meeting venues – which certifies that they adhere to high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control. Complemented with safe management measures which tourism businesses must adopt in the new-normal operating environment, visitors will have added peace of mind.

“Our priority is to ensure that Singapore can reopen safely and sustainably for visitors to return again.”
