Sands Macao begins direct bus link to Hong Kong International Airport

SANDS Resorts Macao has become the first integrated resort to introduce Hong Kong International Airport check-in and direct bus transfer service.

The new services are available to individual travellers and groups alike and expected to transform how overseas groups get to Macao’s Cotai Strip.

Guests now have the convenience of checking in for their flights directly from the integrated resort for a transfer to Hong Kong International Airport. The initiative is expected to play a role in supporting Macao Government Tourism Organisation’s visitor number goals for 2024 and beyond.

“The introduction of airport check-in and direct bus transfers by Sands Resorts Macao marks another significant step towards making Macao a truly international MICE destination,” said Mark Seymour, a meeting planner from the United States.

“This initiative will undoubtedly enhance the appeal of Macao as a preferred destination for corporate events and conferences, offering exceptional convenience and accessibility for attendees.”

Kris Kaminsky, senior vice president of hotel operations for Sands China, said thence services would provide “unrivalled convenience and comfort to our valued guests”.

Sands said the move also addressed concerns in the international MICE industry about convenient access to and from Macao. Stephanie Tanpure, vice president of sales, Sands China, said: “The introduction of airport check-in and direct bus transfers is a critical component of our response to calls to enhance the accessibility of Macau as a destination. We are committed to ensuring that every guest’s journey with us is as easy and convenient as possible.”

This new bus service forms part of a first phase of expanding transport services and will depart from The Venetian Macao directly to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) port, providing a convenient link to Hong Kong International Airport.
