Sheraton Riverside gets a royal makeover

Bangkok hotel’s transformation encompasses an entire floor of 2,800 sqm of meeting space, including 22 venues, two ballrooms and a 22-metre-long LED screen

ROYAL ORCHID Sheraton Riverside Hotel Bangkok has completed a renovation of event facilities with features including a ballroom LED screen and upgrades to make the most of its location overlooking the Chao Phraya River.

The work across 2,800 square metres of event space, including the two ballrooms, provides planners with the option of 22 light-filled meeting spaces.

A 22-metre-long LED screen has been installed in the Royal Orchid Sheraton Ballroom, which can host up to 1,150 people, and overlooks Bangkok’s main river.

The junior Riverside Ballroom can cater for up to 320 delegates or be divided into multiple smaller sections. Meeting rooms with natural lighting include the  Pompadour, Catteleya, Calanthe, Ayaret, Vanda, and Panisea with options for between 12 and 150 delegates. The rooms are being targeted towards organisers of conferences, business meetings, team training, product launches, media briefings and more.

“We are delighted to reveal our newly renovated MICE facilities, which we are confident will establish us as one of Southeast Asia’s leading hotels for meetings and events,” said David Lance, general manager of the 726-gust room and suite hotel.

“Every event hosted at the hotel will be provided with a Meeting Impact Report to track their emissions, which can then be offset by purchasing carbon credits for a range of environmental projects in association with Marriott’s partner, South Pole.

“With measures to tackle water usage, food waste, plastics and emissions, organisers can be assured their event will have a minimum impact on the planet, while leaving a lasting impression on its delegates,” Lance said.

The hotel runs shuttle buses to the IconSiam mall, which also has events space, and to the BTS skytrain station.
