HONG KONG will take centre stage in a top gastro-tourism event as it prepares to host Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 award ceremony in March – a first for the city and considered a major coup for the high end of the city’s food and hospitality sector.
The announcement comes on the heels of a landmark year for Hong Kong’s dining and bar scene, according to Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB).
Local venues claimed two global No.1 titles under the 50 Best – one of the brands under F&B data and events specialist William Reed. Bar Leone was crowned The World’s Best Bar in the 2025 awards, and Rosewood Hong Kong named The World’s Best Hotel.

HKTB said the accolades cement the city’s reputation as a gastronomic powerhouse blending East and West with a flair for innovation. The city’s culinary landscape made impressive achievements in food, beverage, and hospitality with international awards ranging from Asia’s Best 50 rankings, fine dining and innovative tasting menus to local cha chaan tengs, artisanal cocktail bars, and luxury hotels.

The week when the awards take place promises to draw top chefs, restaurateurs, and industry leaders from across Asia withy the ceremony at the centre of it all. Events include collaborations, industry gatherings, and culinary showcases designed to spotlight Hong Kong’s role as a city that extols gastronomic excellence.
Local talent is already riding high. The Chairman and Wing secured second and third spots respectively in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025.

HKTB added that industry leaders were already savouring the global recognition.
