A RESORT-HOTEL in Bali known for its relaxed environment is basking in the success of hosting events surrounding G20 – the talks between world leaders, which had tense moments.
Staff at The Apurva Kempinski Hotel Bali gathered for a large groups photo to match the grandness of the occasion with centre spot given to Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
Jokowi, as the leader is known, thanked all those involved in the G20 Summit including the ”tireless team” at The Apurva.

The hotel opened in 2019 and was one of the main venues for the G20 with the Candi Ballroom hosting world leaders and delegates from global organisations.
President Jokowi welcomed 17 statesmen for a series of activities at The Apurva Kempinski, followed by a luncheon at the Bamboo Dome on the Ocean Front Lawn of the hotel. Under the direction of culinary advisor William Wongso, the hotel’s culinary team went above and beyond to impress the G20 statesmen with the Archipelago menu, which came in a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian version.
“We are honoured to have contributed to the success of such a high-profile gathering”, said Vincent Guironnet, general manager The Apurva Kempinski Bali. “Celebrating this country remains at the forefront of our everyday activities, and we look forward to supporting Indonesia by participating and supporting such events in the future.
“Our employees are very proud of being part of the Kempinski family and deeply identify with our hotel. This, in turn, is reflected in the guest experience delivery, day by day.”
