Singapore Government offers 70pc discount for residents wishing to attend business event show

SINGAPORE business event industry professionals had until Friday, July 11, to apply for up to 70 per cent in fee rebates from the government if they want to attend IBTM Wired.

The Tip-It (Training Industry Professionals in Tourism) grant is open to all Singapore citizens or permanent residents who are employees of Singapore-registered companies inhe MICE sector.

The grant supports up to 70 per cent of course fees and 70 per cent of absentee payroll, capped at S$7.50 per hour, a spokesman for IBTM – the business travel and meetings portfolio of Reed Global Exhibitions – said.

IBTM Wired will feature more than 30 education sessions and four high-profile keynote speakers “designed to give events professionals the key tools they need for the next chapter in meetings and events”.

The event includes online access to the SMF (Singapore MICE Forum) x IBTM Wired conference, in partnership with SACEOS (Singapore Association for Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers), which takes place on June 28.

Visitors can also use the “walk-up’ video meetings function at the event to request meetings with leading suppliers, venues and destinations from around the globe.

Keynote speakers include Stephen Attenborough, who leads commercial activity for Virgin Galactic, part of Richard Branson’s Virgin Group; Monique Morrow, Senior Distinguished Architect for Emerging Technologies at Syniverse Technologies and president/co-founder of Humanized Internet; CNN contributor and Atlanta radio host, Aaron Paxton Arnold; and Ozan Varol, the rocket scientist turned bestselling author and internationally acclaimed speaker.

The majority of sessions will be live to facilitate audience interaction and engagement, with a facility to ask questions to speakers in real-time. The event platform, built by Sector Global, will be open 24 hours a day for the event’s duration so that the global community can tailor their schedule to their time zone.

IBTM Wired will unite professionals from across the world for four days of one-to-one business meetings, networking sessions and a programme of live and on-demand education sessions curated by sector, skillset, and geographic location. The event is a permanent addition to IBTM’s global portfolio of B2B events and intelligence for the meetings, incentives, conferences and events industry.
