STEEN JAKOBSEN is returning to the business events industry as the new chief executive of consultancy Gaining Edge.
Jakobsen was director of Copenhagen Convention Bureau for 14 years followed by 10 years as VP of Dubai Business Events. He also oversaw the setting up of Dubai Association Centre.
In April 2023, he joined Tetra Pharm Technologies as chief financial officer and general manager based in Dubai.

Gary Grimmer, executive chairman of GainingEdge, said Jakobsen’s appointment would benefit the consultancy and the business events industry.

Jakobsen has also served as board chair of the BestCities Global Alliance and vice president of ICCA. In 2024, he received the Moises Shuster Award, ICCA’s most prestigious recognition for contributions to the international meetings industry.
