MESSE BERLIN will launch InnoTrans Asia, the first Asian edition of the global transport technology trade fair, in Singapore.
The announcement by Singapore Tourism Board (STB) follows the signing of an MoU with show organisers Messe Berlin this week. Taking place from September 7-9, 2027 at Singapore EXPO, the inaugural event is aimed at providing a central platform for Asia’s rapidly growing transport sector.

The event is planned to complement the biennial InnoTrans Berlin, with InnoTrans Asia debuting in the alternate year to focus on the Asia Pacific market. The trade fair will showcase railway technology, railway infrastructure, public transport, interiors and tunnel construction.
“InnoTrans Asia is an important addition to the world’s leading trade fair in Berlin and enriches our international event portfolio,” said Dirk Hoffmann, chief operating officer at Messe Berlin.
“While InnoTrans Berlin will remain the centrepiece of the industry, we intend to establish InnoTrans Asia as a link between emerging markets and global innovations. Messe Berlin’s decision to establish InnoTrans Asia in Singapore capitalises on the region’s substantial investments in rail transport infrastructure.”
“Asia is investing heavily in expanding its rail transport infrastructure for both passengers and freight transport,” added Kai Mangelberger, Senior Vice President of Mobility at Messe Berlin. “The demand for modern rail transport technology, automation and sustainable solutions is increasing in China, India and many other countries in Southeast Asia.
“With InnoTrans Asia, we are creating a central platform for the Asian market – right here in Singapore.”

A spokesperson for STB said the city state’s reputation for being pro-business, safe and innovative, coupled with its strategic location and capability in hosting equipment-intensive trade exhibitions makes it an ideal location for InnoTrans Asia.
Ong Huey Hong, Assistant Chief Executive at STB’s Industry Development Group, said: “Securing InnoTrans Asia reaffirms Singapore’s position as the World’s Best MICE City and demonstrates our ability to host major industrial tradeshows.
“Our competitive advantages – excellent connectivity, world-class infrastructure, neutrality, and trusted business environment – continue to attract major international trade shows,” Ong said.
