Messe Berlin APAC unveils ITB Select

ITB ASIA is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia with the launch of a new trade show platform developed in partnership with an association representing Indonesia travel organisers.

ITB Asia Select Indonesia, which is scheduled to take place in Jakarta next June, was unveiled this week in Singapore with an MoU signed between show organisers Messe Berlin Asia Pacific and the Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (Asita).

The new event is designed to build on ITB Asia’s international network and Asita’s local market expertise. Messe Berlin said the initiative is aimed at  connecting Indonesian travel buyers with international exhibitors to unlock business opportunities across Asia.

The agreement singed during ITB Asia 2026 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, follows the rebranding of Travel Meet Asia Jakarta.

Messe Berlin Asia Pacific sees ITB Asia Select as the next step in its long-term commitment to Asia’s travel industry. The event is positioned as an extension of the ITB Asia brand.

A spokesperson said the new platform would bring focused B2B travel trade shows to selected high-potential markets across Asia, creating opportunities for international tourism businesses to connect with local and regional partners and access new growth markets.

Messe Berlin is planning that Indonesia will be the first market as the new brand expands. International exhibitors can engage directly with Indonesian travel buyers through the event.

“ITB Asia Select represents the next step in how we engage with key travel markets across Asia,” said Darren Seah, Executive Director, Travel & Environment, Messe Berlin Asia Pacific.

“Different Asian markets have different opportunities and needs, and strong local partners are essential. By combining the international reach and industry network of ITB with strong local expertise, we can create focused events that respond to the needs of individual markets while connecting them into the wider ITB Asia ecosystem.

“Singapore will remain our flagship regional marketplace, with ITB Asia Select providing additional touchpoints for the industry across Asia,” Seah said.
