The Gallery, Grand Hyatt Singapore

It is hard to provide an inspiring meeting venue which refreshes participants and helps them think out of the box, but the Grand Hyatt Singapore offers just that with its new-concept meeting facility.

The Gallery, which opened in October and follows the success of The Campus, the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok’s facility, aims to enhance the meeting experience and provide a comfortable and stimulating venue that takes participants out of their everyday surroundings and mind-frame to boost their creativity.

Artistic Impression

“We are seeing lots of interest from high-profile MICE groups and potential customers who are interested to use The Gallery to host events for their high net worth clients,” says Zulki Othman, the Grand Hyatt’s area director of sales and marketing – South East Asia, based in Singapore.

The concept for this facility, situated on the hotel’s mezzanine-level, sprang from a modern art gallery and, indeed, exclusive art collections are showcased throughout the venue. Covering 950sqm, the event space can cater for an exclusive function as well as smaller meetings.

“The Gallery has enabled us to acquire new customers for MICE. The people who have seen this venue are attracted to its unique concept. They like the interactive loft kitchen and the fact that their participants are able to mingle either at the high-stool tables or the sofa,” Othman says.

The Loft Kitchen and Lounge set the scene for the visitor. There is a bar counter, dinner tables and a comfortable area with low tables, lounge seats and ottomans. This 330sqm area can accommodate a maximum of 100 people for cocktails.

Connected to the Lounge with three automatically opening large doors on both sides, the two Ateliers with their respective 76.7sqm and 89sqm spaces can seat 30 and 60 people in theatre style and 20 and 26 people in a classroom arrangement.

The Salon, at 455sqm, can seat 240 people in Chinese banquet style, 380 people in theatre style and 200 in a classroom setup. It can be divided into two meeting spaces of 231sqm and 224sqm each.

The modern design, with high-quality finishing and beige overtones, projects a calm and elegant image. The high-definition interactive screens on the three sides of the Salon are not only impressive but also practical.

“Interactive technology forms the cornerstone of events organised within The Gallery as it allows for seamless presentations with remote-activated controls and the latest audio-visual capabilities,” Othman says.

Service is at an equally high standard, with a dedicated team taking care of the conceptualisation and execution of the event, finishing it with a post-event evaluation.

This new meeting space adds to a choice of 1028sqm of ballrooms on the second floor and further meeting spaces on the third floor due to be renovated in 2012. Those will target small- and medium-size companies for meetings and events.
