Countdown begins for offers from Avani and Thanyapura; Ascott Singapore re-opens; JW Marriott debuts in Japan; New Zealand welcomes Park Hyatt

New Zealand’s first Park Hyatt hotel will open its restaurants and bars between September and the end of November. Guestrooms are currently available for reservations from September 15.

Overlooking Waitematā Harbour (above), the Park Hyatt Auckland will feature signature restaurant Onemata to both guests and the local community.

“In spite of Covid-19, we have kept all 150 employees on board thanks to owners Fu Wah and will recruit more colleagues when the hotel opens,” said Brett Sweetman, Park Hyatt Auckland general manager.

Guests booking ahead of October 31 to stay at the hotel before December 31 can take advantage of Park Hyatt Auckland’s opening offer and receive NZ$50 credit per night to spend on site as well as a complimentary room upgrade to the next room category.

Days and nights at Ascott
Ascott Orchard Singapore, Ascott Raffles Place Singapore and lyf Funan Singapore are among the first few lodging properties in Singapore to receive approval from the Singapore Tourism Board to accept staycation bookings.

The properties have a range of apartment types suitable for singles, couples and families, and high-speed wi-fi is available for all guests. The larger and more spacious apartments come with separate living and dining areas, a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette, while some of the apartments also have washing machine and dryer.

Thanyapura in Phuket calling

JW Marriott debuts in Japan
Marriott International has opened its 800th property in Asia Pacific, the JW Marriott Nara in Japan. The opening marks the entry of the JW Marriott brand into Japan. The company also expects the EDITION and Aloft brands to debut in Japan before the end of the year. Meanwhile,  the Moxy brand is preparing to debut in China this year.
