Ovolo Southside converted its ground floor car park for an event hosted by the Asia Society’s India By The Bay series – Hong Kong’s annual festival of Indian culture and arts. Produced by entertainment company Teamwork, the event saw author William Dalrymple reading excerpts from his acclaimed book The Last Mughal: The Fall of a Dynasty, Delhi, 1857 together with musical intermissions by North Indian vocalist Vidya Shah. Drinks were available in a temporary foyer which was separated with drapes from the event space. Lit by candles, the main stage was covered with South Asian rugs and cushions and a projector showed images from Dalrymple’s book.
