ICCASkills courses head to Macau

CONGRESS organisers association ICCA will deliver its professional certification course in Macau over the next two years following an agreement signed in Abu Dhabi.

The Macau Fair & Trade Association (MFTA) has agreed to host exclusive training sessions for ICCASkills in 2025 and 2026. ICCA said the courses were the only globally recognised certification for suppliers in every sector of the meetings industry.

The training is aimed at developing the skills of local professionals while building regional business event capacity and demonstrating MFTA’s commitment to the global meetings industry.

Backgrounder… Macau to woo global conference organisers

ICCA said the agreement to bring ICCASkills to Macau for an additional two years would bolster its commitment to development in the region.

Synthia Chan, MFTA’s council chair, said Macau was gaining more recognition as a meetings and conference destination. She said that MFTA has been “cultivating new talents and enhancing current talents” since the association was formed 24 years ago.

“This is why we have been joining hands with international associations, such as ICCASkills to provide not only for local Macanese, but also for those from the Greater Bay Area, who would like to further their careers in our industry,” Chan said.
