THE NEW GUERLAIN LA PETITE ROBE NOIRE MAKEUP COLLECTION LAUNCHES BY PARTNERING WITH THE LANGHAM, HONG KONG AFTERNOON TEA

Palm Court welcomes new Guerlain shades of lipsticks and nail polishes with deliciously sweet inspirations

(Hong Kong, 21 April 2016) – Guerlain introduces a new beauty spin-off to its most signature product by partnering with The Langham, Hong Kong and presenting The Langham Afternoon Tea with La Petite Robe Noire.

Inspired by La Petite Robe Noire’s spirited energy, Olivier Echaudemaison, Guerlain Make-Up Creative Director, creates a new makeup collection that features a 3-in-1 buildable formula, along with an assortment of scented textures and colourful shades of lipsticks and nail colours that are the inspiration behind the afternoon tea set.  Ms. Sincere Yung, the Brand General Manager of Guerlain Hong Kong says “La Petite Robe Noire is a symbol of sophisticated elegance, which highlights the female femininity. Introducing 20 fantastic shades of lipsticks, five of which are exclusive to Asia, and eight complementing colours of nail polishes, we bring a beauty ensemble that every woman could wish for. We are delighted to have specially collaborated with The Langham, Hong Kong to launch an afternoon tea experience filled with colourful fun.”

Under the leadership of Executive Chef Pedro Samper, the team of confectionery creators at the hotel have deliciously designed and dressed the desserts to reflect the first collection of perfumed lipsticks by La Petite Robe Noire. “We are thrilled to create edible shades of style and sophistication for one of the oldest French perfume, cosmetics and skincare houses in the world. We have interpreted and named the afternoon tea after a selection of the new scented colours and through this partnership, we hope to share the story of La Petite Robe Noire and her colourful journey through sweet flavours,” says Pedro.

Headlining the specially created afternoon tea are a few whimsical treats such as the Asia exclusive shade Floral Headband in the form of a lipstick silhouette. The sculpted exterior is a rich chocolate coat that encompasses a strawberry and rose jam filling. Another sweet accessory is the My First Lipstick colour portrayed as lollipop lips made from couverture chocolate, which contains a higher percentage of cocoa butter. While the Leather Blazer lipstick is transformed into a hazelnut log cake baked with hazelnut crisps, topped with a milk chocolate ganache and a pair of bright orange chocolate lips.

Other accompanying delicacies range from the Coral Collar which is composed of verbena jelly, white peach mousse and crispy yoghurt, and Mauve Gloves made of blueberry and fromage blanc mousse with almond dacquoise, to Apri-Coat produced from golden dulcey chocolate with Tahitian vanilla and an apricot mille-feuille.

On the savoury side, bite-size sandwiches include Maine crab with tomato and cucumber salad profiterole, coronation chicken salad vol-au-vent, and smoked salmon with black truffle and mozzarella tramezzini.
