Vok Dams sets up Shenzhen office

Base in high-tech city adds to live-marketing agency’s operations in Beijing and Shanghai while placing it at the heart of brand events for tech innovators

EXPERIENTIAL marketing company Vok Dams Worldwide is opening a new office in Shenzhen, extending its China operations beyond its long-established bases in Beijing and Shanghai to one of the country’s most innovation-driven markets.

The move places the agency closer to some of China’s fastest-growing sectors, including technology, digital services and automotive, and strengthens its ability to work with both international brands and Chinese companies expanding overseas.

A spokespersson for Vok Dams Worldwide said the decision reflected Shenzhen’s growing role as a centre for senior leadership meetings, executive summits and international brand activities, as well as its emergence as a launchpad for global marketing by Chinese technology companies.

Home to companies such as Huawei, Tencent, DJI and BYD, Shenzhen – which neighbours Hong Kong – has become a focal point for innovation-led businesses with increasingly international ambitions.

Shenzhen is not just another city in China, it is the engine room of the country’s tech revolution. By opening an office here, Vok Dams is making a clear commitment to being where the future is being built.”

He said the city stood out for the close connection between development, production and real‑world application, allowing new technologies to move rapidly from concept to market. This environment, he added, was becoming increasingly relevant for international live marketing, as events benefit from being staged within an ecosystem where innovation and execution are immediately visible.

The Shenzhen office follows a series of recent projects delivered by Vok Dams in the region for international clients including SAP and Emirates, with further work planned.

Benoit C. Thebaut, managing director for Asia-Pacific, said brands were placing greater emphasis on combining global execution standards with strong local relevance. “The decisive factor is the local context: what works in Shenzhen or Shanghai cannot simply be transferred to markets such as Berlin, Paris, London, New York, or Dubai – and vice versa,” he said.

Successful live marketing can only be achieved with local expertise, cultural understanding, and a high level of execution speed.”

Vok Dams has operated in China since 2004, with offices in Beijing and Shanghai. The addition of Shenzhen extends its reach into southern China and the Greater Bay Area, creating what the company describes as a closely connected network across key economic and technological centres.

A company spokesperson said the three Chinese locations were designed to complement each other: Beijing as the political centre and base for many corporate headquarters, Shanghai as an international financial and commercial hub, while Shenzhen served as a high‑density technology and innovation centre.
