Running Man city Osaka hails Uber

OSAKA’s convention bureau has struck a deal with Uber Japan to provide discounts to all attendees of qualifying business events as the city prepares to host the World Expo.

The partnership is a first for Japan in terms of strategically bringing in more MICE events to a destination, says Osaka Convention and Tourism Bureau (OCTB).

World Expo 2025 is being leveraged to encourage more conference and incentive organisers to choose Osaka with the aim of establishing the city as leading business events destination serving Japan And Asia.

A “MICE promotional body” with stakeholders from across Osaka has been formed to attract new business and innovation along with “global investment into Osaka”.

HERE’S THE DEAL…
To maximise the benefits of this collaboration, OCTB and Uber Japan will actively exchange information and work together to:

– Significantly enhance Osaka’s appeal and convenience for meetings and events with the Uber promotional codes so as to encourage more organisers to choose Osaka as a host destination;

– Increase Uber ride service adoption among attendees at MICE events supported by the OCTB;

– Share service usage data

“We are thrilled to announce this new support initiative in collaboration with Uber Japan,” said Hiroshi Mizohata, Osaka Convention and Tourism Bureau president.

“The OCTB is committed to positioning Osaka as Japan’s premier and Asia’s leading MICE destination. To achieve this, we have established an all-Osaka MICE promotional body, dedicated to attracting and developing exceptional events, and are determined to implement increasingly innovative strategies,” Mizohata said.
