Uniplan brings in Chen, Au to sharpen Asia focus

Amanda Chen returns to agency as chief financial officer in Shanghai as creative strategist Andrew Au works from Beijing; both take up places on Uniplan global board

BRAND experience agency Uniplan has extended its global board team with the return of Amanda Chen as chief financial officer and Andrew Au in the newly created role of chief strategy officer.

Chen will oversee global finances from the Shanghai office and Au will be based in Beijing. Both have joined Uniplan’s global board with Christian Zimmermann (chairman and group CEO), Melanie Mucha (chief HR officer), Rüdiger Maeßen (CEO Europe) and Todd Nash (CIO).

Chen worked for the agency in Shanghai from 2010 to 2021 in various finance positions, most recently as CFO and with responsibility for the whole group. She previously worked for various companies in China including PSA, EPCOS and Texas Instruments and had temporarily left Uniplan to co-found the digital platform Freemall.

Au joins the agency with more than 20 years experience in marketing, experience design and creative tech. He is a regular speaker, awards judge and serves as vice-chair of the Marketing Society Southeast Asia board.

He previously held positions at Asia at Eight Inc, Imagination and Fluid, an in regiojal marketing with The Economist Group and Fortune.

Au’s responsibilities at Uniplan will cover further business expansion and strategic customer consulting on an international level.
