Over the past decade, the Asia Pacific region has become the largest business travel region in the world, accounting for 37 per cent of global business travel, according to a recent study by the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA). Business travel spend in Asia totalled US$393 billion in 2012, and has continued to grow at an average rate of 10 per cent annually.
Even though business travel expenditure in Asia is growing at a much faster rate than in other parts of the world, the role of the corporate travel manager in the region is still undervalued or unknown.
For the second year running, ITB Asia, the trade show for the Asian travel market, has partnered with GBTA, the world’s leading business travel association, to hold a
one-day business travel forum at ITB Asia. This year, ITB Asia will be held at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands on October
At the event, participants will hear about the latest economic forecasts on business travel spend in the region, and learn about new insights and ideas that will help business travel professionals to successfully plan for the future.
