Osaka targets MICE industry in Expo buildup

THREE organisations in Osaka are holding two specialised business event shows under one roof as a build-up to World Expo 2025 in the Kansai region of Japan.

Japan MICE Expo 2024 is being organised by an executive committee with representatives from Osaka Convention and Visitors Bureau, Osaka International Convention Centre Corporation and Osaka International Business Promotion Centre.

The dual show takes place at Intex Osaka, October 17-18, consisting of MICE Destination Expo and MICE Supporting Expo, while World Expo Osaka opens in April 2025.

“The city where this exhibition is being held, Osaka, will host the World Exposition in 2025,” said a spokesman for the Japan MICE Expo 2024. “MICE organisers in Japan and abroad see its opening as a great chance to further expand their business and enter the Japanese market to newly organise their own events.

“More than 120 exhibitors, including the leading domestic and international companies, major public organisations, and tourism bureaus have already registered,” he said.

MICE Destination Expo will feature “business talks between event organisers of international conferences, corporate awards, training tours, academic societies, other events and MICE-related suppliers. The MICE Supporting Expo will link exhibition organisers with product and services supporting event management and operations.
