BEIJING’s tourism authority and the China division of trade-show organisers Messe Berlin have teamed up to hold a new annual MICE event aimed at heightening the Chinese capital’s profile as a global conference and incentive destination.
The inaugural China International MICE Exchange (CIMX) – has been scheduled for November 3-5, 2026 in Beijing, and is billed as China’s premier MICE-focused trade show.
Messe Berlin’s managing director for China, David Axiotis, and Zheng Fang, the deputy director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, both signed a strategic MoU yesterday.

“Today’s signing marks the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership between Messe Berlin China and the city of Beijing,” Axiotis said.
“This collaboration embodies a shared vision: to promote the high-quality development and internationalisation of China’s MICE industry.”
Axiotis was speaking during the first day of MICE Meeting Point 2025, a new forum and mini expo that opened yesterday at Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing. MMP is seen as a build up to Messe Berlin’s ITB China in Shanghai next May and an event that “unites global MICE expertise and resources with the vast potential of the Chinese market”.
Zheng Fang, of Beijing’s culture and tourism authority, told of the capital’s rich culture and progress in modern technology from robotics to technological innovation being integrated into a new phase being built a China National Convention Centre.
Delegates were told that the co-operation nurtured between Messe Berlin and Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism in delivering MMP 2025 gave rise to plans for CIMX 2026.
