The Summit Room unveiled at Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai

SHANGHAI Pudong Shangri-La, East Shanghai has unveiled The Summit Room, a new meetings venue designed for small and exclusive events.

The 360-sqm space, which used to be a bar, features an upscale residential setting, composed of a living room, an 18-seat boardroom, an 18-seat dining hall and a built-in terrace with natural sunlight.

Renovated at the cost of RMB6 million (US$954,000), The Summit Room has an exclusive entrance that allows for a high level of privacy. Guests can also enter via the hotel’s Grand Tower lobby.

The pillarless venue, delicately framed by Chinese literati painting, is lit by a pairing of crystal chandeliers as well as natural light. The generous use of rosewood and luxurious marble, combined with plush furnishing and fixtures, enhances the feeling of exclusivity and class.

An iPad controls all the in-room audio and visual equipment, including the sophisticated LCD 4000 Lumens Panasonic Projection system, mobile televisions and Vellux service button that ensure attentive service without impeding on privacy.

An elite service team, consisting of an experienced sommelier, butlers and international culinary team, attends to groups conducting an event at The Summit Room. Corporate event organisers will also be supported by the hotel’s events concierge team who will assist in anything from photocopying to flight bookings.
