Singapore MICE Forum hailed an engaging success

SACEOS – Singapore’s business events industry association – is hailing the success of its Singapore MICE Forum. The event attracted 475 professionals across 26 countries, with 78 other participants connecting remotely through live online streaming broadcast.

SMF 2017 recorded the highest number of participants in its seven years of history, with about 48 per cent of those who attended holding senior management positions.

SACEOS’ bold attempt to deliver 12 engaging breakout sessions tailored to different skillsets and business interests over the 1.5 days was well received. The “Vision 2050” presentations by students, interns and young professionals during the opening ceremony earned standing ovations.

Anna Lim, events manager, BI Worldwide said: “This is my first time here but from what I’ve heard, SMF 2017 is much better in terms of the format, layout and programme. My favourite part is involving the students, the younger generation – gathering ideas and viewpoints from people in different stages of their career – people who are coming out from the polytechnics and those who have been working in the industry.

"This makes it very compelling and interesting for those of us who have been in the industry for a few years and more. It gives us a fresh perspective to look at what we have been doing.”

President of SACEOS, Janet Tan-Collis, said: “We are so delighted to have received some strong support, not just from Singapore, but from industry leaders and professionals around the world. This again attests to our vision of leading this region in professional development and international accreditation excellence.

“The tri-factor strategy of deploying SMF, Asia Business Meet and Singapore MICE Challenge simultaneously has allowed for stronger networking inspired by cohesive learning for both the business and future talent. We are very excited to exceed this year’s benchmark at SMF 2018.”

SMF 2018 will be held July 26 to 27, 2018.
