Singapore Expo reaches new high in wi-fi power

Singapore Expo Convention and Exhibition Centre’s new high-speed wi-fi system gives the highest connectivity – in terms of concurrent users – in Asia, the venue says.

Visitors to Singapore Expo and its convention wing MAX Atria now have an enhanced  complimentary wifi service of up to 2 Mbps, thanks to extensive upgrade to an extensive infrastructure upgrade and the introduction of Wi-Fimax.

Working with telecommunications partner, M1, the venue stated that seamless connectivity could be provided to more than 15,000 concurrently active devices, the highest in Asia, and spread across all 10 exhibition halls at Singapore EXPO and 32 meeting rooms at MAX Atria.

Wi-Fimax is a highly resilient system and has been future-proofed to meet the demands of mega events that require flexibility and scalability. The enhanced system also supports premium connectivity access such as customisable bandwidths for special events and event organisers looking for additional connectivity.

Aloysius Arlando, chief executive of SingEx Venues, the management company of Singapore EXPO and MAX Atria, said: “We believe that as one of the leading MICE venues in the region, Singapore EXPO should aspire to raise the standards in our service offerings.

"With Wi-Fimax we now offer event organisers, exhibitors and delegates highly flexible and customisable Wi-Fi access; and not just limited to basic Wi-Fi services normally provided by some venues.

“We are glad to have made this investment to provide Wi-Fimax to meet tomorrow’s needs. It is also in support of Singapore’s vision to become a smart nation by harnessing technology to improve lives and creating greater business opportunities,” says Arlando.

From now until 31 March 2016, all new business event bookings confirmed at Singapore EXPO and MAX Atria will be extended a complimentary, customised landing page for the event, along with an increased bandwidth of up to 10 Mbps.
