Shirlena Soh and Anita Tan join Saceos leadership team

Two senior executives have been recruited by Singapore’s foremost convention and exhibition association to oversee roles in finance, organisation and sales, while helping shape the future of the city’s business events and conferences.

Dr Shirlena Soh joins as executive director of Saceos and will work closely with the Singapore government to further the city state’s position as a leading regional and global MICE destination.

Dr Soh was previously director of business development and operations for the Human Genome Organisation International and is an honorary Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore.

She received her PhD training at Queensland University of Technology in collaboration with the Genome Institute of Singapore.

Dr Soh also has more than 16 years teaching experience on the Biomedical Science programme at Singapore Polytechnic and also worked in the clinical laboratory of KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.  She is a member of the Professional Conference Management Associaiton’s global advisory group and an international advisory board member for Business Events Sydney.

Anita Tan joins as director of events and sales with a brief to market and promote Saceos events, including the Singapore MICE Forum and the 1-2-1 Asia Business Meet.

Tan has more than 30 years experience in the tourism industry, including senior positions with insurers AIG where she was head of travel.

She was also chief operating officer at the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore and holds a degree in communcation and media management from the University of South Australia.
