Scheduled to open in late 2013, a new football-themed hotel from Onyx Hospitality Group may well score as the ultimate team building destination in Thailand. To give groups a one-of-a-kind experience, the hotel has been designed by I’ll Design Studio, the same architects responsible for the neighbouring i-Mobile Thunder Castle football stadium. Following what must be every schoolboy’s dream, the hotel structure has been designed to resemble a stadium with the aim of helping guests feel like they’re sleeping on the terraces. Most of the rooms face a central area which features a mini football field and a swimming pool.
The hotel is hoping to draw in sport fans from both domestic and international markets. Completion of the property will coincide with the opening of an international motor racing circuit as part of the i-Mobile Thunder Castle stadium complex. Onyx hopes the new attraction will push Buriram to the forefront of sports and leisure tourism in Thailand.
The hotel will have a total of 60 rooms, 44 of which will be classed as ‘superior’. There will also be 14 deluxe rooms and two suites, with sizes ranging from 34 to 114 sqm in size. Perfect for sport themed incentives, groups who stay in the hotel will enjoy bathrooms in a ‘players changing room’ style, whilst a themed restaurant will feature bench style seating to give guests the experience of football team style dining. A bar and a gymnasium will also be available.
