GAME-CHANGING developments in Hong Kong such as the new Kai Tak Sports Park, Web3 and event technology are high on the agenda when Live Matters returns to the city next Wednesday.
Live Matters Hong Kong 2025, organised by Branded, takes place at the AIA Carnival’s Big Top marquee along Central Harbourfront, February 12.
The first panel is scheduled for 10:20am and features Michael Denmark, founder and executive chairman of Great Entertainment Group, Darren Burden, executive director of Kai Tak Sports Park, and James Farndon, CEO of Hong Kong China Rugby.

The entertainment and venue topic of the first panel comes as the stadium at Kai Tak Sports Park prepares to host its first Hong Kong Sevens at the end of March. The Sevens is not only Hong Kong’s showpiece rugby weekend, drawing fans from across the world, but it also marks the potential of the new Kai Tak Sports Park for live events across the Greater Bay and globally.
Kai Tak Sports Park has been undergoing a series of “stress tests” before it officially opens on March 1 with smaller live events held at the facility’s stadium to not only prepare for the Sevens, but also key events such as the China National Games. In January, 63,000 people participated in drills across the park to check transport systems, entry-and-exit procedures, safety and public order.
