Korea proves hosting capabilities with festival month

Korea has vamped up its event and conference facilities throughout the peninsula as it prepares to host over 50 festivals for a month-long visitor campaign.

Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Sales FESTA campaign will bring 55 festivals to the Korean peninsula this month, including 21st Busan International Film Festival, K-pop showcase M Countdown in Jeju, and Jeonju International Sori Festival.

Business visitors can also enjoy discounts on airfare, accommodation, cosmetic and health products, and entry to performances and attractions until October 31, when the campaign period ends.

An expansion on last year’s Korea Grand Sale, the Korea Sales FESTA is an integrated festival designed to promote culture and tourism as well as the destination’s MICE services and capabilities.

According to the latest report by the Union of International Associations (UIA), Korea ranked 2nd in the world for number of international congresses hosted in 2015, with Seoul and Busan ranking 3rd and 11th respectively.
