KLCC adds more space

KUALA LUMPUR The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) has acquired 2,600sqm additional land for a semi-permanent marquee that is adjacent to the centre. Known as Hall 6, the structure will allow the centre to accommodate larger exhibitions, conferences and other events.

The facility has been built primarily to cater to the 25th World Gas Conference (WGC2012), scheduled from June 4 to 8.

“Hall 6 will allow the Centre to address and alleviate our space constraints especially where exhibitions are concerned," said Peter Brokenshire, general manager, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. "This space will be available for use for the next 12 to 24 months with the possibility of extension for a further limited period."

The new staging area will add to the Centre's existing space of 20,059sqm of flexible function space that includes the Exhibition Halls, Plenary Hall, Grand Ballroom, Banquet Hall, Conference Hall, 20 meeting rooms and ancillary facilities and the latest wireless communication and digital audio-visual services.

KLCC's latest addition is currently open for bookings and will be available for use from June 15 and onwards
