ITB Asia 2016 to include MICE Day

ITB Asia 2016, the ‘Trade Show for the Asian Travel Market’, will include a full day conference programme dedicated to business events.

Industry partners – including Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE), Singapore Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (SACEOS) and Incentive Conference & Event Society Asia Pacific (ICESAP) – will lead informative sessions on industry-related issues.

“These dedicated sessions will provide real-world advice for MICE delegates, helping to keep them up-to-date on the latest developments in incentive travel and events and identify new business opportunities,” says Katrina Leung, executive director of Messer Berline (Singapore), the event organiser.

The inaugural MICE Day @ ITB Asia will take place on 20 October, day two of the three-day event.

SITE will hold two sessions themed “Managing Incentive Travel Programmes”.

“SITE is delighted to be partnering with ITB Asia, not only to expand our footprint in Asia, but also to bring world class education to this all important forum,” said Rajeev Kohli, SITE President 2016 who is also joint managing director New Delhi-based Creative Travel.

“One of SITE’s primary objectives is advocating how incentive travel is not an expense but rather an investment in best human resource practices. Research demonstrates that incentive travel is the most effective motivator to help organisations achieve business results.”

Leading industry experts from SACEOS will also be discussing recent industry developments and their future impact.

Two members of ICESAP’s Advisory Board – Bert Li from Amyway China and Aileen London from Oracle – will speak at this session.

ICESAP continues to work with ITB Asia following the success of last year’s event.

Nigel Gaunt, President of ICESAP says, “This year, we have designed our session to focus on what MICE customers expect from industry suppliers as well as the trends and likely changes to cater to their needs moving forward.”

Last year’s trade show attracted almost 760 exhibitors, representing 73 countries. Over 10,300 people and 880 buyers attended the three-day show.

The ninth annual ITB Asia will take place from 19-21 October 2016 at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands.
