Imex America rolls out creative wellbeing agenda

Wellbeing and creative educational platforms will take centre stage next week at Imex Las Vegas, along with a number of partner events aimed at providing greater networking opportunities to hosted buyers and exhibitors.

Hosted by industry associations such as MCI, CEIR and ICCA, the events take place between October 11-14 with an emphasis on young industry leaders, associations, incentive travel programmes and CSR partnerships.

Health and fitness within meetings is seeing gaining more prominence with education sessions on the topic, a new meditation room and a 5k fun run for buyers and exhibitors. The Inspiration Hub will be home to all of the show’s floor education, offering more than 180 sessions.

On the first day, fitness and wellness trainer Ashley Darkenwald will lead a motivational health workshop for delegates while Dr Mary Ellen Rose of the Institute for Health Destination Accreditation will advise on how to create a healthy working environment on the road. CEO of events by tlc and organiser of the 5k IMEXrun Las Vegas, Diogo Assis, will discuss the growth of sports in the events industry.

A new Play Room is also being rolled out offering a “creative hands on play space”  with “quirkshops” that showcase tools and techniques to do with room design, events tech and networking tools that can be implemented in meetings.

Speaking of the new additions to the show, CEO of IMEX Groups Carina Bauer said: “In a rapidly evolving marketplace, it’s essential to stay up to date with the latest trends and develop a fresh approach to planning and hosting meetings.

“Our new Play Room is an exciting new addition to IMEX America. When combined with our creative education sessions and the outstanding line up of MPI Keynotes, we hope to provide delegates with the latest business practices which they can take back and apply to their meetings.”
