SINGAPORE’S popularity as a conference and exhibition destination is one of the factors behind Hong Kong-based Greater Bay Airlines starting a new scheduled service between the two cities.
This scheduled service will operate daily between Hong Kong and Singapore Changi Airport from April 26, Greater Bay Airlines announced.
The airline cited Singapore’s “exhaustive leisure event calendar as well as many new tourism offerings”.

“As a very international city state, Singapore is also one of the popular locations in the region for MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) and business activities,” the airline said in a statement.
Strong links between Hong Kong and Singapore also contributed to the decision along with improved visa ties between mainland China and the Lion City.
“Hong Kong and Singapore have close ties with each other for a long period of time and the number of migrants from mainland China to Singapore has been increasing steadily over the years,” the statement read.

“With the recent announcement of the mutual 30-day visa-exemption arrangement between China and Singapore, it is anticipated that the number of visitors to Singapore from Mainland China, including the Greater Bay Area, will go up further and vice versa.”
