Cievents sends Livia Carrier to Hong Kong for Asia GM role

Cievents has announced a new general manager for Hong Kong as the Flight Centre-owned global events company seeks to build on its presence in Asia by providing senior leadership support.

Livia Carrier has been named general manager for Hong Kong. She has worked with cievents for seven years, most recently as business leader in Sydney.

Carly Lewis (right), formerly general manager in Hong Kong, steps into the director of sales role. Lewis, whose global career began in New York, will develop long-term relationships with customers and oversee sales internationally.

Cievents cited a report by Deloitte on demographic changes in Asia with more than 60 per cent of the world’s population living in the region by the 2030s.

“The Asian market represents a huge growth area for us,” says Natalie Simmons (below), global general manager, cievents.

“As demand for our services in the area grew, we identified this as a key opportunity to offer senior leadership support, providing clients in the region with our best practice, world class event management.”

The statement also pointed to findings by the Association of Australian Convention Bureaux reporting that 30 per cent of international business events delegates are from Asia.

Cievents says it is ensuring that the company is positioned to capitalise on the area’s growth opportunities and to develop a strong position in Asia as demand with the rise in demand for events services in the region.

Carrier’s events experience spans 15 years including positions at Event Travel Management, Moreton Hire, Commonwealth Bank and Asgard Wealth Solutions, according to Linkedin.

“Cievents’ global presence continues to thrive under the guidance and experience of our business leaders. We are committed to growing a culture of innovation and success, and we are fortunate to have international experience within our team,” says Simmons.
