Centara opens second property in northeast Thailand

KHON KAEN PROVINCE Centara Hotels and Resorts has soft opened today its second property in northeast Thailand in response to the growing business events market in the area.

Centara Hotel  & Convention Centre Khon Kaen is a newly built 12-storey, 196-room property is located in the heart of the province’s commercial hub and is only a 15-minute drive to the Khon Kaen airport.

The property provides the destination with its largest venue for meetings, conferences and incentives, with 4,000 sqm of total meeting space consisting of a dedicated convention hall, a ballroom and several meeting rooms.

“It is perfect in term of both facilities and location to meet the enormous regional growth in meetings, conventions and exhibitions sector,” says Thirayuth Chirathivat, chief executive, Centara Hotels & Resorts.

The Khon Kaen Covention Hall measures 1,690 sqm and can be divided into three smaller rooms. It can hold between 2,000 and 2,500 people. Fully equipped with the latest AV facilities, the convention hall has a 465 sqm foyer. The venue is also adjacent to the spacious landscaped gardens and the swimming pool, offering outdoor alternatives for cocktails and other events.

The 560 sqm Prachasamosorn Ballroom can seat 700 people theatre-style and 350 people for banquets. If need be, the ballroom can be partitioned into two smaller rooms. Meanwhile, there are also eight meeting rooms on the ground floor of the hotel can hold groups of up to 200 in a theatre configuration and 70 in a banquet setting.

The four-star hotel also has nine F&B outlets, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and a Cense by Spa Cenvaree.

“It will complement our existing property in Udon Thani, and we see the two properties as being a key part of our expansion strategy in Thailand,” said Chirathivat.
