Melbourne Convention Bureau opened Aime 2017 by launching The Future of Business Meetings Industry Report, analysing how social and technology trends are shaping the future of the business events industry.

The report suggests that profile of the traditional attendee is shifting towards a younger delegate expecting more tech-driven and socially responsible events.

The venue team at newly opened International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney have exceeded management’s expectations by gaining 100 per cent positive client feedback during the pre-opening stage. The centre’s CEO Geoff Donaghy said the venue had initially targeted an 85 per cent positivity rating as part of overall launch objectives.

Brisbane prepares to welcome 1,500 for Herbalife incentive
September will see Brisbane host some 1,500 incentive qualifiers from Herbalife’s Asia Pacific division for the nutrition company’s Future President’s Team Retreat 2017.

A first for the Queensland state, the event will inject an estimated A$3.9million (about US$3m) into the economy.

TCEB rolls out ‘Magnificent Themes’ incentive experiences off back of conference wins
Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has launched a series of themed experiences under the MICE Magnificent Themes campaign to promote incentive opportunities in key business events cities.

The bureau also announced that it has won bids for the Professional Convention Management Association Global Professionals Conference (Asia Pacific) 2017, and the Union of International Associations Round Table Asia Pacific 2017.
