AEG Ogden adds new names to ICC Sydney leadership team

AEG Ogden has appointed three new directors to the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), due to open in December 2016. The new appointments will manage daily operations of the new convention centre, which has 35,500 sqm of event space and can accommodate 12,000.

The appointments are Malu Barrios as Director of Event Services, Ivan Sanhueza as Director of Technology Services and Johnny Naofal as Director of Building Services.

Barrios is currently General Manager at the interim convention facility, Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island (SEC@GI), previously managing AEG Ogden’s Darwin Convention Centre and The Sydney Showground.

Naofal is Facilities Manager at SEC@GI, having managed the safety of events such as the Apec Summit and 2000 Sydney Olympics at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Sanhueza joins from his role as ICT Manager for The Sydney Cricket & Sports Ground Trust (SCGT), which manages the Sydney Cricket Ground and Allianz Stadium.

Technology facilities on offer at the ICC Sydney will feature high bandwidth, venue-wide wireless connectivity, interactive HD digital signage and advanced conferencing facilities.

ICC Sydney will employ 300 full-time and 1,500 casual staff upon its opening in 2016.
