A grand makeover

SHANGHAI Spread across 730 square metres, the luxurious Yangtze Ballroom, the centerpiece of the Renaissance Shanghai Yangtze Hotel's conferencing facilities, combines a sparkling new look with crystal lights and LED screen.

The new makeover and renovation of the hotel's facilities provides an edge the 20-year-old property. Juergen Sterkau, general manager of the Renaissance Shanghai Yangtze hotel believes it provides a wealth of experience within the hotel's associates.

"I would call this hotel almost like an institution, since the hotel has been well-regarded in the city for more than 20 years, this is a big plus for its property," said Sterkau.

"The hotel has one of the highest rates of repeat guests in Shanghai and within the Marriott International chain."

The massive Yangtze I ballroom can be split into three separate sections, each sitting from 50 to 500 people, or be used as a singular large function area, which then in turn can sit up to 800. There is also the Yangtze II ballroom, which is another 670 square metre that can be split into two separate function areas. Furthermore, the hotel has doubled the number of its function rooms to 10, three of which are smaller, intimate meeting venues  that can accommodate 8 to 20 delegates.
