PCMA signs event deal with Singapore

Professional Convention Management Association to hold next three Business of Events conferences at Marina Bay Sands. Agreements formalised at Convening Leaders in Texas

GLOBAL business events advocacy and professional education association PCMA will hold its flagship Asia Pacific conference at Marina Bay Sands Singapore for the next three years after MoUs were signed in Texas.

PCMA signed two memorandums of understanding with Singapore Convention and Exhibition Bureau (SECB) – as part of Singapore Tourism Board – and another with Marina Bays Sands to anchor The Business of Events conference in the city state. 

The signings took place during PCMA Convening Leaders in Houston last week.    

“PCMA remains focused and committed to the advancement of the global business events industry, and the professional development of the APAC community,” said Sherrif Karamat, PCMA’s president and chief executive. 

“Singapore, as a country, is well positioned in the region and globally with a strong focus on innovation and leading practices – elevating the business events industry and upskilling the global workforce in the business events space.”

Edward Koh, executive director, Conventions, Meetings and Incentive Travel, SECB, said: “We are proud to partner with PCMA to anchor and grow their Asia Pacific Conference – The Business of Events – in Singapore. Selecting Marina Bay Sands as the host venue comes from a “natural synergy of PCMA’s and the integrated resort’s common vision and goal to continue shaping and delivering world-class events”, said Ong Wee Min, vice president, Sales and MICE, Marina Bay Sands.

The Business of Events conference gathers global business events strategists. PCMA said the three-year partnership would further solidify the association’s growth and commitment across the region and provide a purposeful platform for knowledge sharing and industry advancement.
