JAPAN’s contingent of nine exhibitors is revealed as one of the international highlights at AIME 2022, which gets underway with an in-person event followed by an online edition.
Representatives from Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO), Chiba, Hiroshima, Tokyo, Kitakyushu, Kobe, Sapporo, Fukuoka and Kyoto will be at the country’s pavilion at the Asia-Pacific Incentive and Meetings Event in Melbourne.
“We are really looking forward to exhibiting at AIME and reconnecting with meetings and events planners once more,” said Yoko Tanaka, JNTO’s executive director.
“Our partners across Japan have been working hard to prepare for the return of international travel and events, and we are excited to showcase the various regions and experiences awaiting incentive groups and other business events when they next travel to Japan,” she said.

Silke Calder, event director at AIME, the recent announcements on Australia’s borders reopening have boosted prospects of international buyers returning, but the mood has been tempered by conflict in Ukraine and devastating floods in east Australia.
“We cannot believe the show is almost here, and what better way to celebrate the revival of our industry than being the first business events trade show in the country to welcome guests from overseas,” Calder said.
“With that being said, to our friends and partners who won’t be able to join us this year, including our neighbours recovering from… flood-affected New South Wales and Queensland, and further from home those in Ukraine, our thoughts and prayers are with you all and we desperately hope to see you soon.”
AIME 2022 takes place March 21-23 at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre; the online edition runs from March 29 to April 1.
