DIVERSITY and fair representation in company boardrooms has taken another step forward with Asia’s largest tradeshow organiser appointing two women leaders.
Athena Gong and Eunice Weng have joined the board of Informa Markets in Asia.
“Many studies show that more diverse boardrooms make better decisions in business,” Informa Markets in Asia announced in a social media posting today.

It said Informa Markets has been striving to improve “boardroom gender diversity” over the years.
Gong (above left) is the China managing director for Informa Markets and has more than 20 years of experience in the exhibition and media sectors. Events Gong has led in China include CIOE, CBME China and Windoor, while she is recognised for her expertise in strategic planning, M&A, business development, sales and event management.
Weng (above right) is acting president of Sinoexpo, which she joined in 1999, and more recently acquired a deep understanding online event management to create successful large-scale events.
“This is super positive news as these two very talented individuals have so much to contribute to our board,” Michael Duck, executive vice president at Informa Markets, commented in the post.
