VIRTUAL experiences and scenery from Hong Kong are being offered to Australians by the Chinese city’s tourism board as group organisers down under prepare for a Christmas wind-down and hope for travel restrictions being eased in 2021.
Hong Kong Tourism Board’s representatives in Australia are promoting a series of videos available on YouTube to help keep the city’s culture, green scenery and food front of mind over the holiday season.

Immersive VR green adventure – The first in the series of 360 Hong Kong Moments is a 360-degree virtual-reality film, created for HKTB’s Great Outdoors Hong Kong campaign. Viewers are taken on an immersive journey across the city’s easy-to-access green territory. The video features traditional local dishes rooted in the city’s cultural heritage, skyline vistas from atop stunning mountains and the soothing sounds of a waterfall. 360 tours here
Conservation and sustainability – Hong Kong-based Nat Geo explorers Astrid Alex Andersson and Jonathan Cybulski swap the city laneways and market stalls for meandering bush tracks to show viewers Hong Kong’s natural wonders. Videos here and here…
