Tens of thousands of buyers, exhibitors and members of the public have witnessed the hosting potential of China’s newest and most modern exhibition space, launching officially this month with a series of opening events.
Nearly 50,000 people attended the Shenyang New World Expo’s first two launch events: the 2017 DPES Sign and LED Expo China – Shenyang, which took place March 1-3, and the 19th Northeast International Dental Equipment & Affiliated Facilities Exhibition and Symposium on Oral Health, held March 16-19.
A third exhibition, the 23rd Northeast Shenyang International Architectural Decoration Exhibition, is soon to be underway.
To help build anticipation ahead of the March 1 opening, the Lioaning province venue also welcomed 8,000 delegates for a preview event in September. The Annual National Planning Conference 2016 drew urban planners from across China.

Winning Pitch
Shenyang New World Expo, located in the northeast province of Liaoning, is posed to become a meetings industry magnet for China’s north, with 24,000 sqm of gross exhibition space and 4,000 sqm of multi-functional convention, meeting and banquet space.
The venue is a part of a massive multi-use complex situated on the Hunhe River adjacent to the city’s Golden Corridor, which runs through the Liaoning provincial capital’s CBD.
The multi-use project, owned by New World China Land (Shenyang), also includes two hotels, a K11 Art Mall shopping centre, three serviced apartment towers, and two office towers.

Highlights
The venue’s first event was the 2017 DPES Sign and LED Expo China – Shenyang, organised by Guangzhou Xuanhua Exhibition.
Taking place March 1-3, the show welcomed a total 8,057 buyers, the majority coming from Northeast China. Some 200 exhibitors showcased current digital, printing, signage and engraving equipment, systems and technology.
Taking place in Hall 4, the exhibition (pictured below) licensed nearly 17,000 sqm of space.
A fortnight later, the Expo hosted its second exhibition: the 19th Northeast International Dental Equipment & Affiliated Facilities Exhibition and Symposium on Oral Health, organised by Liaoning Northern Exhibition Co.
The show, using nearly 22,000 sqm of space, attracted 39,207 buyers and visitors over the four days.
One of the conferences that took place during the show used 13 of the venue’s 17 meeting rooms.
The Expo’s third exhibition, again organised by Liaoning Northern Exhibition, is the 23rd Northeast Shenyang International Architectural Decoration Exhibition, taking place March 23-25.
Upshot
Li Zhi Song, general manager of Liaoning Northern Exhibition, said that his team was “most pleased with the results” of their first exhibition at the Expo.
“We have waited patiently for the addition of this international standard venue to open and enhance the opportunity for Shenyang and the region to grow its exhibition business and achieve a higher standard of presentation.
“I am confident that Expo will lead in the region to attract new business and add greatly to its economy,” he added.
Off the back of the opening events, Expo general manager Diane Chen (left) said: “We are now very confident that Expo will serve Shenyang and Liaoning province in many ways to enhance the quality of the meeting and exhibition industry while addressing the State Council’s industry reforms called for in 2015.”
